Guest Speaker Featured at Jingle Pot Drop-In

Branch News |
BC Hydro’s Stephen Watson was invited to join the Upper Island Power Pioneers for coffee and conversation recently. He specifically spoke with us about the numerous massive BC Hydro projects under development on Vancouver Island, and of others being planned. Of particular interest was an update on the progress of the John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project. Many of us had visited the site last summer and were very impressed by what we saw, but until Steve showed us a “birds eye view’ and walked us through it so to speak, we couldn’t even begin to imagine the sheer size and scope of this project.
Steve is a Stakeholder Engagement Advisor on Capital Project Communications and has worked for BC Hydro for close to 25 years. He tells us there will be another opportunity to visit the site again in July of this year. It’s well worth a visit!

Enjoying a joke. Lois gifted Steve with a Power Pioneer LED flashlight, “for when the lights go out”!
