Provincial President Presents Community Service Award

Branch News |
Provincial Power Pioneers President Tim Thompson presented the 2016 Upper Island Community Service award of $1,000 to Nanaimo student, Kiran Gill of Woodlands Secondary School graduating class.  Kiran and her mother Raj were invited to join the Upper Island executive, along with Tim and wife Gail at a coffee party in Sir Rom Hall at Jingle Pot. It’s always a pleasure to offer this award each year, and to recognize the youth in our communities who devote so much of their time to the care and concerns of others. Without exception all the young students the Power Pioneers have honoured throughout BC over the years, have excelled academically yet still found time to contribute many, many volunteer hours to their communities. Kiran too embodies that same ethic and is a delightful young lady. Kiran’s immediate plans are to attend Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, and ultimately to attend University of Northern BC in Prince George where her goal is to become a medical doctor. Our very best wishes go with her.

Flowers, chocolates and a very large cheque for Kiran!
