Upper Island Power Pioneers Support Local Hospital and Food Bank

Branch News |
Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Nanaimo Loaves and Fishes were both recipients of cheques from the Upper Island Branch recently.

Thanks in large part to our members support for all our fund raising endeavours throughout the year, we took great pleasure in presenting Nanaimo Regional General Hospital a cheque this year in the amount of $1,000! This money will be used in both the Paediatric Ambulatory Care and Neo Natal Care Units of the hospital. Along with the money, our Caring Crafts Cupboard yielded a treasure trove of beautifully crafted baby toques, finger puppets slippers and bed covers, all of which were gratefully accepted.

Another local charity to benefit annually from our Upper Island member’s generosity is the Loaves and Fishes food bank. In addition to the 375 lbs of food items we donated at Christmas, we were pleased to present Executive Director Peter Sinclair with a cheque in the amount of $500.

Heartfelt thanks to all of you who make it possible for us to continue to help our communities in this way.
