The 2019 Vancouver Island Science Fair was another successful event which was supported by BC Hydro’s Financial support and directly through the local Power Pioneer Organizations. Larry Niedjalski was pleased to represent the Victoria South Island  Power Pioneers as a specialty judge and presenter.  The awards that he presented on behalf of BC Hydro and the Power Pioneers were:

BC Hydro South Island Award to Liam Teschke from Colquitz Middle School for the Gravity Battery.  He received the $100 local Power Pioneer’s donation.

BC Hydro Power Smart Award to Eric Shi from Mount Douglas Secondary School for Remote Control for Wheeled Mobile Robots through Wi-Fi.

BC Hydro Power Pioneers Award to Nattan Telmer from Mount Douglas Secondary School for Wearable Flexible Thermo-Electric Generators. This award is our Provincial Award for Vancouver Island.

Larry commented that the interaction with all the participants is always refreshing and rewarding.
