Every year the Upper Island Power Pioneers look forward to decorating a Christmas tree for such a worthy cause. It is so much fun decorating the tree and showing it off to all the people who visit the Nanaimo convention centre to look at and vote on their favourite decorated tree. Donations are done on your cell phone by texting the number shown by the tree. Each vote donates $5.00 to the tree of your choice and the money all goes to the BC Children’s hospital.
Because so many of our members are unable to visit the location where the festival of trees is held, our Upper Island branch took cash donations at our Christmas lunch and $65.00 was raised, all which will be donated to BC Children’s hospital.
