The Fraser Valley Power Pioneers branch is pleased to announce that this year’s winner of the Community Services Award is Nolan Rempel of Abbotsford. Once again, the decision was a tough one and we had to choose one winner out of six top notch applicants. However, if there was an edge for Nolan, it was his determination to overcome many obstacles in his young life, including autism, and he came out on top. Nolan’s marks were right up there with the other top contenders, and had just completed his High School curriculum through Heritage Christian on-line school in Kelowna. He has successfully been registered with Fraser Valley University and will start courses this September.
Judges were Dave & Sue Devitt, Mel & Barb Peters, and Pat & Ray Daws. The Fraser Valley Branch would also like to thank Pat Daws for her contribution and leadership with the Community Services Award.
Pictured below is Pat awarding the Power Pioneers book “Voices From Two Rivers”, a BC Hydro Power Pioneers certificate for the Community Services Award for 2020, a scholarship certificate from BC Hydro Power Pioneers for $500, and Nolan with his proud Mom!
Congratulations Nolan!
