FRASER VALLEY BRANCH CHRISTMAS LUNCH

Our 2023 Christmas Luncheon was held Dec 5th at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre in Abbotsford. This was our first time holding the event at this venue and organizers Diane Watts, Bernie Smith-Gander and team were very pleased with their services, and the delicious meal. We received several compliments from the attendees.

In all, 53 members and 6 guests were in attendance (including some members from other branches). Guests were Ros LeBlanc, Provincial President and Heather Mullan, Provincial Communications, Maureen Lachnit, Provincial Vice President and Rob Kikkert, Provincial Past President as well as BC Hydro line managers and their admin. assistants from the Abbotsford and Chilliwack line rooms. MC Bryan Bodell introduced Ros who gave a Christmas greeting and brief Provincial update.

Both portions of the 50/50 draw were awarded with each winner – Denise Jury and Marilyn Hedley – receiving $114!

Following the lunch, donations of food, $75 in cash, and 62 children’s books from our branch’s literacy program were donated to Archway Community Services in Abbotsford.

Earlier, Diane and Dave Watts had decorated a Christmas tree in the dining room of Canuck Place/Dave Lede House in Abbotsford with a Squishmallow theme (popular with kids).
