Taran dropped in (from his Post Secondary Education at Vancouver Island University pursuing a career in healthcare) to our Executive meeting on 13 September 2022 to receive his award, $500 cheque and book.

Some of Taran’s achievements
-From grade 8 to 11 Taran volunteered at summer camps for children age 3 to 12. He became a mentor and a role model.
-Involved in the “Leaders in Training” program at Parks, Recreation and Culture
-Taran’s (in his words). Throughout his years as a high school student he has created for himself; In Society-ways and means to create meaningful change-and develop positive environments for others to flourish in.
-volunteers at the local hospital, food banks and numerous placements for the City of Nanaimo.
-Led a team of 10 to 15 high school students each week organizing, planning and mentoring them on how to become leaders and provide support.
