BC Hydro Power Pioneers Northern Branch Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Prepared by Pat Dool, Secretary. There were 24 members present for the lunch meeting.
Prior to lunch being served, Al Beeson, President, welcomed everyone and shared the birthdays and anniversaries for March.
Immediately following lunch, Al called the meeting to order at 12:45 and asked for a motion to accept the minutes from the February meeting, which were in the latest newsletter. Neil Weller moved the minutes be adopted as reported and Tim Thompson 2nd, AIF/C.
Terry Receveur, Treasurer, presented the Financial Report: General Acct $2684.99, Entertainment Acct $678.65 for a Balance of $3363.64 and moved his report be accepted, Dave Conway 2nd, AIF/C.
Al circulated an invitation to a Hearing Loss Presentation – Living Well with Hearing Loss BC. It will be held at the Hart Pioneer Centre, 6986 Hart Hwy. on March 18th from 10:00 to 11:15 am. Please register by sending an email to: http://Lorraine@hartpioneer@shaw.ca if you wish to attend.
Al moved a motion to suspend our general meeting until Election of Officers has been completed. Nancy Thurier 2nd, AIF/C. Al turned the meeting over to Terry Receveur to facilitate the election process and Pat will record the proceedings/outcome as follows for the 2025-2027 term.

At the conclusion of the Election process, thanks to Terry, Al moved we return to our regular business meeting and called for
Committee Reports:
Care – Elaine Hauck – reports checking in on Larry Primus as well as Dan and Colleen Krys.
Volunteer Hours – Donna Zellman – nothing new to report.
Publicity – Rudy Zellman – absent.
Membership – Nancy Thurier – updated the membership list effective March 10th.
Community Service Awards – Bryan Tuson – reports submission of entries to close March 31, 2025.
Science Fair – Tim Thompson – reports he and Al attended/judged on March 8th at UNBC. The youngsters were very enthusiastic and they chose to award a $100 gift certificate, an award certificate and a trophy to the Gold Medal winner –Cameron Burg (and Jayce Lackey-Dykstra, who was ill and couldn’t be there that day) for their race car exhibit.
Heritage Fair – Vacant – no report.
Caring Hands and Literacy – Gail Thompson – nothing to report.
Small is Mighty – Pat Dool – nothing to report
Old Business:
Wendy Banting spoke at the February meeting about a new exercise and fitness program called Wy’s Rebounding and she will invite the owner to our April 8th meeting to provide a demonstration.
New Business:
More information will be made available regarding 2026 BCHPP Jamboree Cruise shortly.
Leisure Activities:
Lunch was won by Linda Siemens and the 50/50 of $40 won by Pat Hauck. Dave Conway won a BCHPP scarf.
Meeting was adjourned at 1:10 pm
