We had a wonderful turnout for our May 7th Luncheon.
A key point at the Luncheon was our selection for our June Luncheon outing; We decided to visit the Grist Mill and Garden at Keremeos on Thursday, June 6. We will enjoy lunch at the Grist Mill, including a guided tour of the 150-year-old Heritage Mill, gardens and homestead buildings. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn the history of this area, enjoy the fellowship of other Power Pioneer members, and enjoy a lovely lunch in their tearoom overlooking the lush green property.
Thanks to Shirley Gratton for suggesting this outing and offering to help with the organization and administration.
Cost to participate in our outing will be $10 for Power Pioneer members, which will include lunch, the site entrance fee, and guided tour. Nonmembers are welcome to join us, with the fee being approximately $20 -$25.
For further information, or to advise us of any dietary restrictions, please contact:

Other topics discussed were:
A presentation from Skip Mavety on this year’s Small is Mighty campaign for the BC Children’s Hospital. Provincial Chair Maureen Lachnit provided information on the launch of the event in the Lower Mainland. Additional information on the Campaign including how to participate is on the Power Pioneer website.
Shirley Gratton, with assistance from her evaluation team, was able to review this year’s Community Service Award candidates. They selected Jayla Goodsoe; Thanks to Shirley and her team for their work this year.
Bill McCracken has offered to help with the Publicity representative tasks. We hope to provide more on-line activities so that we can keep in touch with our Branch members other than at our Monthly Luncheons. We hope to focus on more on-line contact like emails, Zoom information sessions and in-person events (like outings and tours) rather than only monthly luncheons.
Coming up:
Grist Mill and Garden outing, Thursday June 6.
September Luncheon, Tuesday September 10.
Pat and I look forward to seeing you in Keremeos!
