I’m excited to introduce myself as the new President of the Power Pioneers! It’s truly an honor to step into this role after serving on the Provincial Executive and connecting with many of you through events and community initiatives.

I retired from BC Hydro and Accenture after 42 years in Customer Service and IT. My career began in 1975 in Customer Service Billing. Over the years I took on various roles, witnessing the evolution of automation and collaborating with incredible people who made it all possible. When BC Hydro brought services back in-house, I remained with Accenture, sharing customer service best practices with utility clients worldwide.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of meeting amazing people and forming lasting friendships. I’ve always enjoyed the social aspect of work, whether it was bowling at the Commodore, playing baseball in the ladies’ and mixed leagues, golfing, or simply spending time with colleagues. The Power Pioneers has given me the opportunity to stay connected, build new friendships, contribute to the community, and, most importantly—have fun!

As President, I look forward to working with you to spread the message that the Power Pioneers is here for all BC Hydro and Associate retirees and employees and their spouses. Whether you’re looking to stay informed through our website and newsletters, reconnect with former colleagues, give back to your community, or simply enjoy social activities, there’s something for everyone!

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Ros LeBlanc for her incredible dedication as President. Over the past few years, she has worked tirelessly, always prioritizing what’s best for the Power Pioneers. As she transitions into the role of Past President, I am truly grateful for the invaluable support she will continue to provide.

With my transition into the role of President, Warren Quon is now our new Vice President. His enthusiasm and commitment to the Power Pioneers will undoubtedly bring exciting new opportunities for our organization.
