Tri – Cities Quarterly Newsletter (October 2024)

Hello Everyone,

Our Summer seemed so short this year, however, we were fortunate that the Tri-Cities did not have to endure the searing heat dome from the previous year. Numerous members were on holiday and some were preparing for the Jamboree on an Alaskan Cruise in September as well.

Meetings

In our September meeting at Ricky’s on Schoolhouse and Lougheed, we were delighted to have Colin Gurnsey share how he is rebuilding a 1933  La Gonda, a very rare antique vehicle.  Colin also brought his 1949 Bentley Mark 6 vehicle with him and our members were able to investigate the incredibly beautiful work he did when rebuilding it.

Rambles
Rambles were cancelled during July and August.

On our September Ramble, we met at Como Lake Park. It is an easier walk so people went around it twice. We then met for lunch at the  John B Pub for lunch .

Our October Ramble, was a walk along the Coquitlam river, looking at the spawing salmon, followed with lunch at Samz.

Bowling
5 Pin Bowling commenced on September 24 th .
Linda Speerbrecker would like to increase the number of bowlers in the coming months. She
states it is all about having fun. Dates are October 26 and November 24, 2024.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the Fall and Christmas season.
Delia, Les, Ralph, Cathy and Juliana
