BC Hydro Power Pioneers Golf Club (Vancouver) 2023 Osoyoos Desert Classic Review

The 2023 Osoyoos Desert Classic took place June 19-22.  The outing was a success with 34 members  participating in 3 fun filled rounds of golf at the Osoyoos Golf and country Club.

The week started Monday with a beach side welcome pizza dinner enjoyed by the group.  Forty golfers and guests attended a dinner banquet on Wednesday, where prizes were awarded to the winners of the Texas Scramble, Pink Ball, KP’s and longest putts events.

For those who don’t know, Pink Ball is a fun competition where all teams are given one pink ball.  Only the teams who returned with their pink ball at the end of the round are able to compete for the lowest scores.  This year, 4 teams out of 9 came back with their pink ball at the end of the round are able to compete for the lowest scores.  This year, 4 teams out of 9 came back with their pink ball.  Amazing!

The Club thanked Louise Ouellet and her spouse Doug Whiticar for their almost year long work for arranging and then running the event, as well as to Len Chamberlain for setting the golf groups. The work is much appreciated by all!

The 2024 Osoyoos Desert Classic is planned for June 17-20, 2024.

The next club event will be the Windup Texas Scramble tournament and AGM Dinner on September 19 at Riverway.
